The problem

What the customer needed

The customer asked us to inspect a damp problem in their home. We took moisture readings across the affected walls to confirm it really was rising damp and to rule out other causes, because a new damp course only helps if rising damp is actually the problem.

Once the cause was confirmed, we agreed a fixed price with the customer before any work began.

What we did

How the job was done

Holes were drilled into the mortar course at damp proof course level and silicone DPC cream was injected into each one, forming a new barrier the moisture cannot rise past.

The contaminated plaster above the damp line was hacked off back to brick, the walls brushed clean and primed, and salt-resistant renovation plaster applied in two coats before a smooth skim.

The result

How it turned out

The customer described us as knowledgeable and prompt, said we came out when we said we would, and found the price very reasonable. They would highly recommend us.
