Terms of Service
Plain-English terms that govern the work we do for you. No small print, no surprises.
About these terms
These terms and conditions apply to all plastering, damp proofing, and related services provided by Absolutely Plastered (“we”, “us”, “our”), operated by Dean, based in the North East of England.
By instructing us to carry out work, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. If you have any questions, contact us before work begins.
Services
We provide plastering, rendering, damp proofing, DPC installation, dry rot and wet rot treatment, and related building services across the North East of England. The specific scope of work for your project will be detailed in your written quote.
Any additional work not included in the original quote will be discussed and agreed with you before it is carried out. We will provide a separate price for any extras.
Quotes & pricing
All quotes are provided free of charge with no obligation. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
Our quotes are fixed-price. The amount quoted is the amount you pay, with no hidden extras and no surprise invoices. If we discover unforeseen issues during the work (e.g. structural problems hidden behind plaster), we will discuss them with you and agree any additional costs before proceeding.
Prices include labour and materials unless explicitly stated otherwise. VAT is not applicable as we operate below the VAT registration threshold.
Payment
Payment terms will be agreed before work commences and detailed on your quote. For larger projects, we may require staged payments at agreed milestones.
We accept bank transfer and cash. Payment is due upon completion of the agreed work (or agreed stage), unless alternative terms have been arranged in writing.
We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue payments at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Cancellation
You may cancel at any time before work begins at no charge. If you cancel after work has started, you will be liable for the cost of materials already purchased and work already completed.
If we need to cancel or reschedule due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g. severe weather, illness), we will notify you as soon as possible and arrange an alternative date at no extra cost.
For contracts agreed at your home, you have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, provided work has not yet begun with your express consent.
Liability
We carry public liability insurance to cover our work. We will take all reasonable care to protect your property during the course of our work.
If we cause any damage to your property during the work, we will repair or make good at our own expense. Please report any damage to us as soon as possible.
Our liability is limited to the value of the contract. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, pre-existing defects, or issues caused by factors outside our control (e.g. structural movement, third-party work).
Guarantees
All our work is guaranteed. If you're not happy with the finish, we'll come back and put it right, no arguments and no charges.
Specific guarantee periods depend on the type of work. Damp proofing and DPC installations typically carry a guarantee of up to 20 years (subject to manufacturer's terms). Plastering and rendering work is guaranteed for workmanship defects.
Guarantees do not cover damage caused by third parties, structural movement, flooding, or failure to maintain the property in accordance with our recommendations.
Complaints
We pride ourselves on the quality of our work, but if something isn't right, we want to know about it. Please contact us as soon as possible:
- Email: info@absplastered.co.uk
We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 14 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may seek advice from Citizens Advice or pursue the matter through the courts.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
These terms were last updated on 24 August 2026.
