The problem

What the customer needed

The customer had two large ceilings that needed replacing. When a ceiling has failed across its whole area, patching the worst spots just moves the problem along, so the honest advice is usually to take it down and start again.

We came out to quote, confirmed what needed doing, and the customer was happy with the price before anything started.

What we did

How the job was done

Both ceilings were taken down and the debris cleared. New plasterboard was fixed to the joists with the joints staggered to prevent cracking, then every joint was taped with scrim and the edges beaded for clean lines.

Each ceiling was skimmed with two coats of multi-finish plaster and trowelled smooth. To finish the rooms off, coving was fitted where the new ceilings met the walls.

The result

How it turned out

The customer said they could not fault the work, that the ceilings look amazing, and that their home was left clean and tidy. They would highly recommend us.

“Dean came out to give me a quote, he knew what needed doing and I was happy with what he quoted. He took down 2 ceilings, replaced them, skimmed and then put up some coving. I can't fault his work at all, the ceilings look amazing, he left my home clean and tidy. I'd highly recommend.”
